Kruger National Park Trips

When do the gates to Kruger Park open & close?

The gates/entrances into the Kruger Park have different opening and closing times during different seasons, as do the gates into the camps within the park. This is to line up with when it gets light/dark.

Are there shops and restaurants within the Kruger Park?

Yes, there are shops and restaurants in the Kruger. The bigger campsites within Kruger Park do have basic shops, restaurants and petrol stations. You can also find ATMs at the Skukuza and Letaba camps. Smaller camps that are all-inclusive may provide drinks and snacks for sale, and occasionally some curios, but most don’t have ATMs, so remember to take cash with you for incidentals or be willing to pay with your debit or credit cards.

How long are the game drives and guided walks in the Kruger Park?

Most game drives range between 1 and 2 hours. But longer game drives are also available depending on the weather and seasonality. Your best option is to get in touch with our friendly office staff to book a game drive that will suit you the best.

How do I make a booking?

Please proceed to the accommodation tab in the menu of our website and click on any of the Units to read more and place your booking. Should you need to book any of our activities please click on your desired activity and select your activity in the booking form on the next page.

How is my booking done?

Once you have submitted your booking as desired and your booking has been submitted for the date you inquired, we will contact you for information and book your unit or activity on the date you requested.

What does the price include?

Everything included in the price is on our website and our prices and what we offer is updated on a regular basis.

Safety and security

Is there malaria at the lodge?

Mali Mali Safari Lodge is in a low-risk malaria area. But we highly recommend that you consult with your doctor before you travel to the area.

How is the weather in the area?

The South African summer months are from October – April with temperatures ranging from 28-35 degrees Celsius. Winter months are from May – September with temperatures ranging from 16-25 degrees Celsius. The Lowveld experiences a low annual rainfall which mostly occur during the summer months.

Should anything happen to me, how does it work?

South Africa has a large network of hospitals that offer excellent services. You will be informed about the procedure when arriving at Mali Mali Safari Lodge. Please ensure that you have adequate health insurance as a safety precaution when traveling to South Africa.

What is the earliest I can check in?

Your room will be ready for you from 10 am on the day you’re due to arrive.

When is the latest I can check out?

Check out is by 10 am on your agreed departure date.

Can I change my arrival time?

Please inform us if you intend to arrive after 09 PM, as you may not be able to gain access after that time. Please call us to make an arrangement.
